To be a San Diego Personal Trainer Coach, I am asked quite frequently, “What do I eat to lose weight?” That’s the most usual question I get as I’ve helped barrels of Houston residents shed mounds of fat, firm up, to get into surprising shape.   America is facing an outbreak of huge amounts. America is easily the most heavy country on the globe. We are now living in a land of pure excess. Super-size this, extra large that, supersize that, extra order of that, etc. The simple truth is continuously. Americans consume way too much. The portions are simply just out of hand.

 

 

 

Most of my San Diego Personal Trainer clients were really like this, feeding on way too much and choosing the wrong foods. And this is required to stop. Americans are fat because of the type of foods they eat and also the amounts in addition.   Americans have to start choosing the best type of foods, in nicely balanced and healthy amounts, that will help to increase their metabolic rate and help them shed fat. That is not happening for the most part.

Dropping pounds really is not that difficult once you know the appropriate solution to losing fat. And did you see I said losing fat. Hoodia Gordonii weight loss pills come from a natural succulent plant that visually looks like a cactus. It grows in the Kalahari Desert area of South Africa although some purport that it grows in some surrounding lands. Who would have known that this supplement could have come from there? At one time only wild, these plants were used by native Tribesmen, the San Bushmen, to guard against thirst and hunger on long nomadic hunting trips. They removed the spines and skin of the Hoodia Gordonii before eating it.

In the nineties, biological scientists singled out one Hoodia plant molecule (known as P57) directly responsible for reducing one’s appetite. Patent rights to the P57 compound were sold to Phytopharm, a British company. They in-turn entered into a licensing agreement with the large pharmaceutical company Pfizer. They sought out together to isolate P57 molecule to later be marketed as a weight loss product for the consumer market. Later, Phytopharm conducted a study of Hoodia Gordonii as a viable weight loss solution. Their results helped form their conclusion that the obese people that took P57 reduced their daily intake by 1,000 calories and suffered no side affects. Some have tried to refute this conclusion, but hundreds of thousands users swear by it today. Two facts should be noted. First, although some testing has been done, extensive testing has not. Second, although only some tests have been done, thousands of users have found it to be very effective. Those who swear by it think it possibly is the best supplement for weight loss in existence today. The company Phytopharm inspired by their findings then invested millions of dollars into efforts of researching the viability of commercially growing and cultivating Hoodia Gordonii.

Phytopharm along with Unilever (the Slimfast owner) in late 2004 produced an agreement to bring Hoodia Gordonii to the market in 3 years. Their goal was to make various food products that would have P57 as an ingredient.

A few months ago my friend Jon released a book whose title was more reminiscent of a line out of “There’s Something About Mary” than a serious work on fitness. “7 Minute Muscle” — yep, it’s getting more and more difficult to distinguish fact from parody.

 Here’s the real irony:  Of the 27 testimonials published, over a dozen were from fitness professionals. I’m speaking of men and women with both academic and real-world experience in the fitness and bodybuilding world.

 The workout protocol is based on the science of hypertrophy as well as psychophysiology, the study of the mind/body connection.

 7 Minute Muscle is primarily a density-based training system. It demands varying rep ranges done within specific time periods. The protocol factors six of the primary variables of hypertrophy, or muscle growth:  Intensity, Load, Volume, Density, Time and Force.

 A layman’s take on one of the basic laws of physics states that time and energy is inter-related. Doing the same amount of work in less time demands more energy, translates into more power. While power is a factor in training, our interest is focused on forcing muscle growth and adaptation. This is also an element of time and energy. More energy expended in less time = more power.

If you break down the typical 3-4 set bench press routine, with reps starting at 12 and ending in the 4-6 range, with longer rest intervals between heavier sets, you’ll find that the aggregate weight lifted is “less” than a protocol like 7 Minute Muscle, which uses ‘less’ weight (easier on the joints) but demands more work in less time. In other words, X amount of repetitions done with Y amount of weight in just 5 minutes ends up being greater than your typical 3-4 set protocol, despite the fact that more weight is used in the latter.

7 Minute Muscle goes a bit further by varying rest, load factors and repetition range. They have only one objective: Increase the aggregate repetition count from one training session to the next. Since time is limited (broken down into two phases:  A Power Phase of no more than 5 repetitions and a Mass Phase of no more than 10 repetitions) the trainee is given a system that more accurately measure the seventh and most crucial factor of hypertrophy:  Progression.

Intermediate and advanced-level trainees are given 14 and 21-minute protocols if they wish to implement them. I myself rarely go beyond 14 minutes, as that is all that’s required to stimulate muscle growth.

More and more people are dying of hunger and malnutrition (anorexia), binging and diarrhea (bulimia)or binge eating. In fact, the classification of their eating habits as a step disturbance. In the past, eating disorders have been seen as a problem for women. Diagnose the problem correctly found the males to make the correct treatment.

After one or two minutes to speak with a new customer, you can share with me their beliefs and fears about himself and his life. Start with the first thoughts unhealthyI began to ask questions that invite customers to see exactly how their thinking is not healthy, that affect their lives.

For example would be: “Do I look good, feel good.” I will ask the client if the thinking is absolutely correct. Then we talked about concrete things that have done more to believe in this idea. How is it treated as a reason to consider this idea. For a moment I asked to imagine how life would look like iflonger believed that thinking. How is life different? What is your relationship with it could be different? For transparency, I invite the client gives me three reasons why the idea of “Do I look good, feel good” can not be true. The reason I ask because I see that your life be different if he is no longer an idea so powerful that its actions to determine regulated and leads to life-threatening habits.

AsPeople have the strength to believe that our thoughts or not. When an idea is no longer a goal, all sound, we have the right to reject or replace it with a thought that is inspiring and true. In this way we can remove the shame and self-loathing. Help build healthy thoughts exactly how to help them recover from an eating disorder. This is the same way that I know from my eating disorder for six years.
